New York, I HAVE ARRIVED!
So, I completely underestimated the amount of time and effort it took to pack up my entire life from my West Palm Beach apartment and move up here, all while finding work and starting new jobs, and my favorite little big brother married the love of his life! March was a very busy month to say the least. But I’m here and I’m excited to share my journey!
I first decided to visit New York for about 2 weeks to find an apartment. TIP: Those of you in the New York area or looking to move here, the best apartment search app that I used was Street Easy. There’s a “no broker fee” search option and it has the most updated apartment listings, which was extremely helpful because rentals go FAST.

With 1,281 miles on our route, my Dad and I packed up the truck and left from Miami. It took us 2 days and approximately 23 hours. It was probably the excitement and anxiety that kept me going, but the drive was surprisingly easy. I’m currently still getting settled in, but I absolutely LOVE my new home! I’m in Brooklyn and it’s easy walking distance to all my necessities, such as the subway and a new coffee shop literally right across the street! (You know me)
But one thing you may not know about me, interior decorating is another creative outlet of mine. It’s been my favorite part about moving, hands down. I’ve found such odd joy in furniture shopping and putting together the décor of my new apartment. Pics and videos coming soon on my Instagram, so make sure you follow me, and stay tuned!
I started working on various independent stylist and personal shopping jobs, which I absolutely LOVE! The flexibility of my schedule makes it easy to have a good work/life balance and I get to spend more time with Bailey (my adorable American bull dog mix), since I work from home a lot as well. Plus, I’m working in FASHION, my dream, I couldn’t be happier and it’s only going to progress from here.
I’ve already connected with amazing creatives, I’ve re-connected with old friends, and I’ve met so many new people as well! Every chance I get I’m exploring my new home finding places to dine, shop, bar hop, and people watch from Brooklyn to Williamsburg to Park Slope, from Lower East Side to Chelsea to Upper West Side.
Here, I’m at the Brooklyn Museum in Prospect Park in the heart of Brooklyn, where I’ve also engaged in some flag football (yes, I can play haha).
Although it’s spring, it’s been in the 40’s up here which definitely calls for at least a sweater and jacket or coat. I played with my go-to all black attire by mixing different fabrics and textures- leather jacket, cotton stretch pants, and mesh shoes, to give it some dimension. And since it is spring, I had to lighten it up with my vegan fur winter white coat that I got at an amazing sale from Bloomingdale’s.
Can we talk about these earrings though?
They’re such a statement piece! The perfect dark red color that’s not too bright but still a rich pop of color, literally every time I wear them I get at least three compliments! Best part, they’re not heavy, and I got them under $20 at H&M.
The weather is soon to warm up (it’s forecast to hit 70 this weekend, ahh!!) and summer will be here in no time! Stay tuned to see how this Florida gal adjusts to the Big Apple and for the latest fashion trends in my next blog!
